    Aegon Life, one of the up and coming insurance providers in India, offers just one health insurance plan for their customers. Aegon Life offered the Health Insurance Plan but this is currently discontinued and is not available for sale. Aegon Life offers only one health plan called the iCancer Insurance Plan. This policy caters to cancer patients and helps take care of all their medical expenses relating to treatment and recuperation.

    Aegon Life iCancer Insurance Plan:

    This is a health plan that is available for purchase online and offline. This plan is designed to cover all forms of cancer (except skin cancer). The policy pays out at all stages of cancer.

    Benefits of Aegon Life iCancer Insurance Plan:

    • Covers all cancers - There are over 100 different cancers covered under this plan. The only cancer that is not covered is skin cancer. Multiple unrelated cancers will also be covered, subject to underwriting.
    • Covers all stages of cancer - A percentage of the sum assured is payable at every stage of cancer. There a three stages of cancer severity under this policy. At the first stage, 25% of the sum assured is payable subject to a maximum of Rs.5 lakhs minus any previous claims. In the major stage, 100% of the sum assured is payable minus any previous claims. In the critical stage 150% of the sum assured will be paid out minus any previous claims.
    • Critical Stage Sum Assured - Upon diagnosis of a critical stage of cancer, 150% of the sum assured is payable. The sum assured will be calculated on the basis of deducting previous claims made under the policy.
    • Premium Waiver - If a major stage of cancer claim is made and approved, then all future premiums payable towards the policy will be waived. The policy will continue to be in force till the end of the policy term. Once the policy terminates, then all coverage will terminate as well.
    • Tax benefits - For premiums paid towards the policy and benefits claimed from it, tax benefits are available under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Tax laws are subject to change and you are advised to seek consultation from a tax advisor.

    Eligibility - Aegon Life iCancer Insurance Plan?

    • You should be at least 18 years (last birthday) and not more than 65 years to be eligible for this plan.
    • Upon maturity of this plan, your age should not exceed 75 years.
    • The minimum sum assured is capped at Rs.10 lakhs. The maximum sum assured available is Rs.50 lakhs.
    • The policy term is a minimum of 5 years. The maximum policy term can stretch up to 70 years minus the entry age.
    • Premium payments will be equal to the policy term.
    • Premiums can be paid monthly or annually. Monthly premiums are determined by the annual premium x 0.087.

    How to buy this Plan?

    You can log into the Aegon Life website. You then need to choose your cover amount and the term of the policy. Your premium will be calculated based on this. You can then make the payment using your credit card, debit card or internet banking. Aegon Life will call to verify your information once your application is submitted. Your policy should be issued to you within 10-14 working days.
