    The Aviva Heart Care Plan is a tiered benefit cardiovascular product which pays a sum of money incase of any heart related conditions or procedure. It also aims to financially help not only you but your spouse too in case he/she is diagnosed with any cardio related condition. This particular plan covers upto 19 heart related conditions and procedures and ensures that all your hard earned savings remain safe and provides you monetary help.  This plan provides discount on large sum assured and also makes you eligible for various tax benefits.

    Eligibility - Who is the Aviva Heart Care Plan for?

    The eligibility criteria for this particular plan are given below:

    Maximum age at maturity 75 years (subject to a maximum policy term of 25 years)

    Sum Assured and Premium Range - What you get and what it costs?

    Sum Assured

    Sum Assured is the minimum amount the insurer will pay to the insured. The sum assured won’t contain any benefits or bonuses the individual might be entitled to. All the relevant information regarding sum assured for this plan is given in the table below:

    Premiums to be paid will be decided at the beginning of the policy. The premium payable will be based on the sum assured, policy term and the premium payment term. All the relevant information on premiums for this plan is given in the table below:

    There are no riders or add-on plans.

    Exclusions - What the Heart Care Plan doesn’t cover?

    There are various exclusions covered under this plan. They are:

    • There is an exclusion for pre-existing diseases .i.e. Diseases which were diagnosed 2 years prior to which the policy was first implemented.
    • Heart related procedures or diagnosis which occurred during the waiting period.
    • Intentional failure to follow any medical advice.
    • Suicide or any injury self-inflicted and participation in any illegal or criminal activity.
    • Use of any banned or illegal drugs.
    • There is an exclusion if the insured takes part in any kind of war or in any act of violence regardless of whether it is declared or not.
    • Contamination of radioactive material due to any nuclear accident.
    • If the diagnosis has been done outside India. However certain countries have been exempted from the exclusion which are Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia , Singapore, Switzerland, USA, countries under European Union and Dubai.

    Other Key Features – Free-Look Period, Surrender Value, Grace Period, etc.

    Grace Period A grace period of 30 days is provided if premium payment mode is yearly or half-yearly. 15 days if the premium payment mode is monthly.
    Free Look Period A free-look period of 15 days is provided.
    Revival A lapsed policy can be revived within 2 years of the last date of the first unpaid premium.
    Nomination Nomination is allowed under Section 39 of the Insurance Act, 1938.
    Assignment Assignment is allowed under Section 38 of the Insurance Act, 1938.
