Let’s take a look at the process.
With a number of lives lost and a thousands displaced from their houses over the last week weeks following the Kerala floods, insurer Bharti AXA has simplified the claims process for Kerala flood victims in the life insurance and the general insurance sector. According to the insurer, those affected by the floods have to just write an intimation to the insurer stating the insurer, with details of their bank account and a cancelled cheque, death certificate from any hospital, and Aadhaar copy of the nominee to kickstart the claims process. According to Bharti Axa, speaking to business standard, it said, in view of the deluged-ravaged Kerala and some districts of Karnataka and resultant loss of lives, we have set up a dedicated assistance cell at each district in Kerala and the flood-hit districts of Karnataka for simplified life claims with minimal documents. Bharti AXA understands the plight of our customers and endeavour to settle eligible claims expeditiously. If death certificate is not available, we shall accept a certificate from police, armed forces or any authorised hospital certifying the death of the life insured. In addition, the insurer has waived off late penalties for premiums and has even waived the cost for documentation of motor claims.
