    People who meet the following eligibility criteria can apply for Bharti AXA Smart Personal Accident Insurance Policy:

    • The entry age of the proposer must be between 18 years and 70 years.
    • Dependents can be covered from the age of 8 years.
    • This policy can be renewed for life upon entry within the above mentioned limit.

    • The basic sum insured amount available under this policy ranges from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.30 lakh.
    • The sum insured amount chosen initially can be enhanced only during the time of renewal on condition that no claims were made beforehand.
    • Policyholders are classified into different groups based on their occupation. The premium charges for this policy vary based on the occupational risk of the policyholder.
    • For accidental death while travelling in public transport, the death benefit offered under this policy is doubled.
    • There is a grace period of 30 days from the date of expiry for renewing this policy cover.
    • The first 15 days of this policy cover is the free look period, which allows policyholders to review the terms and conditions of the policy and cancel it if they are not satisfied.
    • This policy can be ported to other insurers in the market without losing out on any accrued benefits. In order to obtain this benefit, it is necessary to intimate the company at least 45 days before the date of renewal.
    • The premium amount paid for this policy is eligible for tax relief as per Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

    Exclusions of Bharti AXA Smart Personal Accident Insurance

    • Claims related to pre-existing disabilities
    • Intentional self-injury, suicide, or suicide attempt
    • Claims related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related complications
    • Death or disability caused while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • Claims related to sexually transmitted diseases or venereal diseases
    • Death or disability caused while breaching the law with criminal intent
    • Claims attributable to war, invasion, or warlike activities
    • Claims attributable to exposure to nuclear materials or radiation
    • Claims resulting from participation in hazardous activities

    Claim Procedure

    The claim procedure for this policy cover is simple and straightforward. It begins with intimation to the company following an accident that may result in a claim. Claims can be notified by contacting the company’s helpdesk. The company will require various documents from the insured in order to proceed with the claim process. The documents required for this can be listed as follows:

    • Duly filled claim form
    • Death or disability certificate
    • Medical bills
    • Hospital discharge summary
    • Police FIR
    • Any other document that may be requested by the company

    Once these documents are submitted to the insurer, the claim process will begin. The company will verify the validity of the documents before accepting the request. Following the acceptance of the claim, the company promises to provide the settlement amount within a maximum of 10 days from the date of receipt of the last necessary document.
