    Eligibility - Who is the Bharti Axa Critical Illness for?

    You have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for the Bharti Axa Critical Illness insurance plan:

    Minimum age at entry 3 months
    Maximum age at entry 55

    All residents of India are eligible to purchase this plan. Also, children in an age group of 90 days to 5 years are allowed to be covered if one or both of the parents are policyholders. Those who are 45 years of age and above need to take medical tests as mandated by the insurance provider as a prerequisite before purchasing the policy.

    The Bharti Axa Critical Illness policy provides protection against 20 critical illnesses. You can either choose an individual plan or a family floater plan. The policy will cover hospitalization expenses on an indemnity basis, costs towards pre-hospitalization, post-hospitalization, dread disease recuperation, transplantation of organs. In case the policyholder is diagnosed with any disease, the insurance provider will be given a lump-sum amount. This benefit will be paid if the insured party survives for more than 30 days after being diagnosed.

    Exclusions - What Bharti Axa Critical Illness Plan doesn’t cover?

    • In case any ailment is diagnosed within the first 60 days of the first year of the policy term
    • Pre-existing diseases that were diagnosed before the commencement of the policy. However, policyholders will be eligible to get pre-existing conditions covered after four continuous renewals.
    • Pregnancy or childbirth related issues
    • ARCS-AIDS related complex syndrome, HIV, AIDS
    • Illnesses due to consumption of drugs or alcohol
    • Self-harm
    • Overseas treatment
    • Injuries caused due to criminal or illegal acts
    • Experimental medication or treatments
    • Treatment at home/ self-medication or unscientific treatment
    • Unani or naturopathy
    • Cosmetic or plastic surgery
    • Mental or psychological problems
    • Congenital internal disease

    Other Key Features – Free-look Period, Surrender Values, Grace Period, etc.

    • Free-look period- Bharti Axa provides policyholders the benefit of a 15-day free-look period from the date of commencement of the policy, during which, one can review the terms and conditions of the policy. If the customer is not comfortable with any of the mentioned conditions, he or she can cancel the policy by providing a reason. The premium spent will be refunded after availing deductions for medical check-up and stamp duty. However, this offer cannot be availed if any claim has already been made.
    • Grace Period-A grace period of 30 days will be provided to initiate the renewal process. However, the policyholder should note that during the break period during policy renewal, no coverage will be provided.

    • Family floater advantage- A customer can choose to go for this plan under which the whole family can be insured for a particular sum. The policyholder can insure himself, spouse, and two dependent children who are 23 years old or younger. The premium paid for this plan will cover expenses for more than one claim during the policy period.
    • Renewal discount- Those purchasing this policy can avail a discount of up to 5% at the time of renewal if it was a claim-free year. Discounts of up to 25% are offered.
    • Good policy servicing- A specified third party administrator will be assigned to take care of the claims made and also provide cashless hospitalization services.
    • Medical examination cost reimbursement- The insurance provider is obligated to provide reimbursement of not less than 50% towards costs of medical examination.
    • Portability- If the policyholder wants to migrate to another policy they can avail this benefit during the renewal process. However, this benefit will only be available if the policy was maintained without any breaks.
