    HDFC Bank’s FASTag Program is a part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) initiative started by NPCI under the guidelines of NHAI and IHMCL for enabling effortless toll payments. Under this program, HDFC Bank will issue a reloadable FASTag through which you can make digital toll payment at toll plazas on National Highways. 

    This electronic device can be used at more than 420 toll plazas across State and National Highways. 

    What is HDFC Bank FASTag and how does it work? 

    HDFC Bank FASTag is a small tag enabled with Radio Frequency Identification technology (RFID) that can be used to make cashless toll transactions. When you subscribe to the FASTag program of HDFC Bank, this device will be affixed on your vehicle’s windscreen. A FASTag account will also be created and linked to your HDFC Bank savings or current account. 

    As soon as your vehicle enters the exclusive lane marked for FASTag users at the toll station the tag readers installed there will scan the tag and automatically deduct the toll fee from the prepaid account linked to it. Hence, before using the tag, you will have to recharge the account as required. 

    Features and benefits of HDFC Bank FASTag Program 

    • By using an HDFC Bank FASTag you can pass through the toll stations without stopping to make cash transactions. 
    • This RFID-enabled device serves as a prepaid toll pass and you needn't carry cash along with for making toll payments while travelling. 
    • You will get a cashback of 2.5% on all the toll payments made through the HDFC Bank FASTag in FY 2019-20 (ending on 31 March 2020). 
    • Every time a balance is debited from your HDFC Bank FASTag account, you will receive SMS alerts on your mobile number registered with the bank. 
    • Your FASTag account can be recharged online through credit card, debit card, or Net Banking of HDFC Bank or any other bank right from the comfort of your home. 
    • If you are a corporate customer who is into fleet business, the driver driving your vehicles will get emergency road assistance. 
    • An accidental death cover of Rs.1 lakh will be provided to the on-duty fleet drivers of corporate customers. 
    • You can access periodic transaction statements and other account details by logging in to your FASTag customer portal. 
    • You will get the facility to avail a monthly pass on your FASTag for a specific toll plaza. It will be beneficial for you if you regularly pas through a particular toll plaza. 
    • Your HDFC Bank FASTag wallet can be recharged with a maximum amount of Rs.1 lakh. There is no minimum amount for recharging the wallet. 
    • If your house is located within 10 km of a toll plaza you can avail a FASTag to get concession for local vehicle on the FASTag issued for your vehicle. 

    How to buy an HDFC FASTag? 

    Steps to apply offline 

    Visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) locations or authorised agent sales offices of HDFC Bank to create a tag account. Ensure to drive your vehicle to the POS/agent location at the time of the purchase as the activated tag needs to be fastened on the windscreen of your vehicle by a bank representative.  

    Carry all the originals as well as photocopies of the following KYC documents along with: 

    • Registration Certificate (RC Book) of the vehicle 
    • Duly filled and signed application form for Axis Bank FASTag 
    • A valid driving license for address proof and ID proof 
    • Passport-size photograph of the vehicle owner/customer
    • KYC documents of the vehicle owner  
      • Individual customer: PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID card, etc.  
      • Corporate customer: 
        • For a Proprietorship, proprietor’s address proof, PAN card, Shop Act, and other Firm proof are required. 
        • For a partnership/private limited/public limited company, corporate’s PAN card, signing authority's photo ID, names and addresses of directors and partners, and Registration Certificate/Partnership Deed/Certificate of Incorporation of the firm are required. 

    Procedure to apply online 

    You can apply for an HDFC Bank FASTag online in a few simple steps that are as follows: 

    • Visit HDFC Bank’s FASTag web portal at https://www.hdfcbank.com/htdocs/common/fastag/pay-toll-online.html  
    • Click on 'Apply Now' available on the homepage. 
    • Under 'Enter Details' tick 'yes' if you have an HDFC Bank Savings Account or else, select ‘no’. 
    • If you choose ‘yes’ you need to provide your Customer ID in the following step. Next, enter the verification code sent to your registered mobile number to authenticate your identity. However, if you choose ‘no’ you will be asked to specify the vehicle type (personal/commercial). A form will appear on the screen. Fill it up and click on 'Next'. 
    • You will be directed to the 'Vehicles registrations' tab where you will have to provide your Vehicle Registration Number and mention the vehicle type. Click on 'Next'. 
    • Next, upload all the required documents. 
    • When done, review your application and submit. 

    Whether you apply online or offline, in both the cases, you will have to pay the applicable fees depending on the class of your vehicle. The bank will verify the documents and if everything is valid, you will be issued with a FASTag. Online applicants will receive the tag in their registered address. 

    Steps to recharge your HDFC Bank FASTag Account 

    You can instantly recharge your FASTag account online following these steps: 

    • Login in to FASTag Portal with User ID / Wallet ID and Password. 
    • Choose the ‘Payment And Topup’ option under the ‘Recharge’ tab. 
    • Next, select the Wallet ID that you want to recharge and enter the desired amount.  
    • Select the desired payment mode and enter the respective details. 
    • When done, click on Make Payment’ to complete the transaction.  

    Upon successful completion of the transaction, your FASTag wallet will be reloaded instantly.

    Customer Helpline Number for HDFC FASTag Program 

    • 1033 - This helpline number launched by MoRTH/NHAI/IHMCL for addressing FASTag queries at the toll plaza level. Dial it regarding these issues: 
      • If the plaza stops you due to tag blacklisting while it is not blacklisted. 
      • FASTag is not accepted at the toll plaza. 
      • If the plaza is not able to read the FASTag. 
      • Plaza is not issuing a monthly pass or not accepting the issued pass.

    1. How to block my HDFC Bank FASTag?

    • Login in to the HDFC FASTag portal using your User ID/Wallet ID and Password. 
    • Select ‘Service Request’ option under the ‘Generate Service Request’ tab. 
    • Choose ‘Closure Request’ as the ‘Type of Request’ to close your FASTag/wallet. 

    You can also block your FASTag account by calling the customer care number of the bank. 

    2. How to raise a dispute/complaint related to a FAStag transaction? 

    If you have any complaint related to transaction made through HDFC Bank FASTag, you can file a complaint online. The steps are as follows: 

    • Login in to HDFC Bank FASTag portal using your User ID/Wallet ID and password. 
    • Select ‘Service Request’ option under the ‘Generate Service Request’ tab. 
    • Choose ‘Transaction Dispute’ as ‘Request Type’ to lodge a complaint/dispute regarding a particular transaction from your FASTag wallet.  

    Alternately, you can lodge a dispute by calling the customer care number of the bank. 

    3.   Can I use the same FASTag for two vehicles? 

    No, you can't use the same FASTag for two or more vehicles. If you have more than one vehicle you will have to buy two separate FASTag for each. 

    4. What will happen to my FASTag wallet balance if I lose the tag? 

    In such a case, you will have to call the customer care number of the bank immediately to block your FASTag. The bank will re-issue the tag for a cost of Rs.200 and link it to your existing wallet. Thus, the balance in your FASTag wallet will remain the same. 

    5. Whom should I complaint to if the toll collection staff misbehaves with me?  

    In case of misconduct or rude behaviour of the toll collection staff at the toll plaza, you should file a complaint with the concerned Project Directors at the toll plaza. 

    6. I am into a fleet business. Do I have to recharge all my vehicles individually

    Since one FASTag wallet can incorporate multiple vehicles you will have to recharge only one wallet online for all the vehicles. You can use the balance under the wallet for all the vehicles.
