Visakhapatnam is planning to get an automated inspection and certification centre (AICC), a first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh which is already operational in Singapore, Germany, China, and Hong Kong. The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) based in Pune will provide technical support to the state government to set up AICC. The function of the centre will be to curb issues of pollution and accidents, as well as prevent corruption in the RTO in issuing permits to citizens.
The services offered by the RTO make it convenient for individuals to avail driving licences or getting permits to drive vehicles. Vehicle owners should make it a point to avail these services and get all the necessary documents to legally drive the vehicle on Indian roads. Anyone failing to carry out the mandated procedures will be fined heavily. The documents to be carried by all drivers are the registration certificate, emission test certificate, and motor insurance policy.
