    • 100% automatic recharge of sum insured is available within the maximum sum insured limit. This reinstated sum insured amount can be used by other members covered within the same policy.
    • Senior citizens enrolled in this cover can avail free health checkup irrespective of their past claim history.
    • There is a two-year waiting period applicable for all pre-existing diseases.
    • There is an initial waiting period of 30 days associated with this policy cover. However, this does not apply for hospitalisation arising out of accidents.
    • There is a mandatory copayment of 20% associated with this policy for every single claim. If the insured person is over 71 years of age, the copayment must be 30% per claim.
    • Once senior citizens are enrolled in this policy, it can be renewed lifelong.
    • A grace period of 30 days is available from the date of expiry for renewing this policy cover. However, there will be no coverage for the days during which the premium is not paid.

    Exclusions of Care Care Freedom Senior Citizen Health Insurance

    There are certain exclusions under Care Care Freedom policy for which the insurer is not liable to provide any compensation. Some of the key exclusions from this policy are as follows.

    • Intentional self-injuries and injuries caused by suicide or attempted suicide
    • Injuries caused while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs
    • Expenses related to the treatment of AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, or venereal diseases
    • Expenses related to the treatment of congenital diseases
    • Treatment or tests related to infertility
    • Treatment related to childbirth and pregnancy
    • Cost of spectacles or contact lens
    • Cost of dental treatment unless arising out of accident

    Claim Procedure

    The claim procedure for Care Care Freedom Senior Citizen Health Insurance is pretty standard. In case of planned hospitalisation, the company must be notified 48 hours in advance. For emergency hospitalisation, the company must be notified within 24 hours after hospitalisation. For cashless treatment, pre-authorization must be obtained from the company. Care’s customer care can be contacted to know about the pre-authorization process and the network hospitals in your area.

    For reimbursement claims, the insured must submit the claim form along with a list of documents related to the medical treatment. Once the claim is successfully made, the company will verify its validity and communicate the acceptance or rejection of the claim to the policyholder. In case of rejection, the insurer will communicate the reason for rejection. Following acceptance of the claim, the reimbursement amount will be provided to the insured.
