Future Generali Future Criticare is a critical illness policy developed for the purpose of providing financial security against various major illnesses. The policy comes with flexible options and provides lump sum benefit following the first diagnosis of a named critical illness.

    Eligibility for Future Generali Future Criticare

    People who meet the following eligibility criteria can apply for Future Generali Future Criticare:

    • The proposer of this policy must be an adult.
    • The maximum entry age for this cover is capped at 65 years.
    • Dependents between the age of 6 years and 25 years can avail protection under this critical illness cover.
    • Lifelong renewability option is provided for policyholders once they have entered this policy.
    • This policy can be taken for self, spouse, 2 dependent children, and 2 dependent parents.

    Features of Future Generali Future Criticare

    Some of the notable features of Future Generali Future Criticare can be listed as follows:

    • The sum insured options for this critical illness cover ranges from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.50 lakh.
    • For people entering this cover after the age of 46 years, the maximum sum insured amount is capped at Rs.20 lakh.
    • Pre-policy medical checkup is not required for people entering this cover till the age of 45 years and sum insured amount up to Rs.5 lakh.
    • For those requiring medical tests, the company will reimburse 50% of the checkup costs (upon policy acceptance) if the tests are taken in an empanelled hospital.
    • Following the diagnosis of a named critical illness, the insured must satisfy a survival period of 28 days. In other words, the insured must be alive for 28 days following the first diagnosis of a critical illness in order to enjoy the benefits.
    • Any critical illness diagnosed within the first 90 days of inception of this policy will not be covered by this policy.
    • Family floater discount up to 50% is available based on the age group of the enrolled family members.
    • Customers can use the 15-day free look period to review the terms of the policy and cancel it if they are not satisfied. The company will reimburse the premium amount in these cases.
    • The company allows portability of the policy as per the guidelines issued by the IRDAI.
    • The premium amount paid for this policy is eligible for tax relief as per Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

    • Any treatment related to congenital diseases, birth defects, and anomalies
    • Expenses related to non-allopathic treatment procedures
    • Any kind of unproven or experimental treatment methods
    • Illnesses or injuries attributable to war, invasion, or rebellion
    • Illnesses or injuries attributable to exposure to nuclear substances
    • Injuries sustained while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • Any claims attributable to participation in extreme sports or hazardous activities
    • Expenses related to birth control procedures
    • Treatment for pregnancy, childbirth, or related complications
    • Any medical or non-medical expenses incurred during hospital stay

    Claim Procedure

    Following the diagnosis of a named critical illness, the company must be notified in writing. The company’s customer service department can be contacted to know about the specific ways to raise a claim request. All claims must be filed with supporting proof regarding the diagnosis of the critical illness. The documents requested by the company includes the following:

    • Duly filled claim form
    • Discharge certificate
    • Physician certificate regarding diagnosis
    • Surgeon’s certificate (if applicable)
    • Case papers from the hospital
    • Any other documents that may be required

    Once the documents are submitted, the company will verify the validity of the claim. After verifying the documents, the company will communicate the acceptance or rejection to the insured. In case of rejection, the appropriate reason will be provided. Following the acceptance of the claim, the lump sum benefit will be provided to the insured within a reasonable time.
