While a mediclaim policy takes care of the hospitalisation expenses, a hospitalised patient is likely to incur a lot more expenses associated with traveling of family members, food, comfort, etc. Future Generali Future Hospicash is designed to take care of these expenses incurred during hospital stay. This daily cash plan provides a fixed benefit for every single day of hospitalisation up to a specified limit. The benefit obtained from this cover can be used for anything as per the insured’s discretion.

    Eligibility for Future Generali Future Hospicash

    This policy cover is available for those who meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • The age of the proposer must be at least 18 years.
    • The maximum entry age for this policy is capped at 65 years.
    • Dependents between the age of 6 months and 25 years can be covered only if both their parents are covered in this policy.
    • Lifelong renewability option is available under this policy.

    Some of the notable features of Future Generali Future Hospicash can be given as follows:

    • This daily cash policy comes in multiple sum insured options ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.3,000 per day.
    • The number of days of cash benefit comes in 4 different plans: Plan A - 30 days; Plan B - 60 days; Plan C - 90 days; Plan D - 180 days. Premiums are charged accordingly based on the plan chosen.
    • Plan C is available only for those with monthly income of Rs.50,000 and above. Plan D is available only for those with monthly income of Rs.75,000 and above.
    • Policyholders can get family floater discounts while enrolling their family members. For enrolling the spouse, an additional premium of only 50% is required. For a dependent child, the premium is 25% of self premium.
    • Those entering the policy after 55 years of age must undergo a pre-policy medical examination before policy acceptance. The company will reimburse 50% of the checkup costs if the proposal is accepted.
    • This policy can be taken even if there is no base mediclaim policy in the name of the insured.
    • Pre-existing diseases are covered under this policy after a waiting period of 48 months of continuous policy coverage.
    • A 24-month waiting period is applicable for certain conditions such as hernia, benign prostatic hypertrophy, hydrocele, etc.
    • If you are not satisfied with the policy terms, you can cancel the policy within the 15-day free look period and get a refund on your premiums.
    • There is a grace period of 30 days from the date of expiry to renew this policy cover.
    • Portability options are followed as per the regulations set forth by the IRDAI. The company must be notified 45 days before the date of renewal in order to proceed with the portability option.
    • The premium amount paid for this policy is eligible for tax relief as per Section 80D of the Income Tax Act.

    The following list of exclusions apply to Future Generali Future Hospicash:

    • Intentional self-injury or injury due to suicide attempt
    • Hospitalisation outside the country
    • Hospitalisation for any kind of mental illness or psychiatric disorders
    • Hospitalisation for pregnancy, childbirth, or fertility treatments
    • Cosmetic or aesthetic treatments of all kinds
    • Experimental or unproven treatment procedures
    • Hospitalisation as a result of war or warlike activities
    • Any kind of non-allopathic treatment
    • General debility, run down condition, rest cure, etc.
    • Sexually transmitted diseases or venereal diseases

    Claim Procedure

    Claim settlement process for this daily cash plan is simple. During the time of hospitalisation, the policyholder must intimate the company about the hospitalisation. The insurer can be notified by contacting the customer service department. After discharge from the hospital, the following documents can be submitted to the company to proceed with the claim request:

    • Policy details
    • Duly filled claim form
    • Photocopy of discharge card
    • Medical bills and receipts

    The company will verify these documents after submission and communicate the acceptance or rejection of the claim. Claim rejection will be communicated along with the appropriate reason. Upon acceptance of the claim, the settlement amount will be provided within a reasonable time.
