Basically there are 3 types of Car Insurance available in the Indian Market:
Liability coverage is of two types:
o Coverage for Bodily Injury
o Coverage for Personal Property
Liability coverage also includes covering medical expenses, personal injuries, and property damage of a third party if you’re at-fault. This is called third-party liability coverage.
This policy covers the damages to your vehicle in case you hit fixed objects like a telephone pole, lamp post or guard rail, or another vehicle.
This claim will cover the vehicle expenses if it was damaged by natural calamities like hail storm or man-made calamities like riots, vandalism, hail, floods, animal collisions, theft, and fire.
This coverage is also known as “Fire and Theft” or “Other Than Collision.”
Mostly, car insurance is provided by the Hyundai car dealer during the purchase of Hyundai Creta. In case you are interested in buying an insurance policy rather than availing the one that the car dealer provides, you can apply for the policy either offline and online.
Here, anybody interested in buying the insurance needs to visit the insurance firm of one’s choice. The prospective policyholder will then be met by an insurance representative who will guide him or her through the different policies available and the application process.
Since everything has gone digital, anybody willing to get insured can browse for the best insurance policies and compare them with the click of a mouse at the comfort of one's home. There are n number of options to choose from the number of motor insurance firms available. After deciding on the insurance firm, one can visit the firm’s website and apply online. Now the online application can take place in two ways:
o The site would ask you to fill up your name and number, and one of the representatives will get in touch with you, taking you through the best offers.
o Or, the site will have you fill an online application form for the policy of your choice.
Add-ons for Creta car insurance offer added insurance benefits which includes covering several damages or events other than one’s own and/or third party liability.
Below are some of the add-ons provided for Hyundai Creta:
As per the base policy, only the depreciated value of any car part is reimbursable, and not the replacement value.By adding the Zero Depreciation cover to the base policy, the policyholder can claim the complete expenses incurred to replace the car parts that are damaged due to accidents. Usually, vehicles that are three to five years old are eligible to apply for this cover and can be used for two claims only during the policy period.
This add-on is of use to owners of high-end brand new cars. Cars that are three or less than three years old can opt for this add-on cover. Also known as Machinery Breakdown cover, this add-on covers any engine-related repairs that are required, regardless of what the cause is, except in cases of regular wear and tear.
This cover will ensure that the policyholder receives the original value of the car, including road tax and registration charges paid and not just the insured declared value (IDV). You can claim this in case of theft or total loss of your car. This add-on may not cover imported vehicles and is available for cars that are up to three years old.
By buying this add-on, the policyholder earns a No Claim Bonus (NCB) when he or she doesn’t make any claims in the year. This protect starts at 20% and with every year that is claim-free, there is an annual percentage increase that can go up to maximum of 50%. This cover allows you to accumulate the bonuses and protects you from losing them even if you make a claim. To avail this benefit, one should not have made claims in the two preceding years. This cover is usually not available for vehicles that are more than three years old.
This add-on offers round-the-clock services like towing, refuelling, arranging for a mechanic's services, change of flat tyre, etc. in case the car breakdowns.
This cover protects the passengers in case of partial or permanent total disabilities suffered or death due to an accident.
In case your vehicle is under repairs in any of the authorised garages or gets stolen, this add-on covers your cost of hiring another vehicle. The number of days could vary from 10-15 days.
This cover comes into play if your keys get stolen or if you happen to lose or misplace them. The cover will pay for the cost of replacing either your key or the lock of your vehicle.
This cover compensates the expenses on your vehicle's commodities like screen washers, engine oil, nuts and bolts, bearings, etc. in case of any accident. Cars that are more than 3 years old aren’t eligible for this cover.
Insured Declared Value (IDV) is the market price of your car that depreciates with time. IDV has a direct impact on your premiums; higher the IDV, higher the premiums will be.
