    Eligibility for the IFFCO Tokio Personal Accident Insurance Policy (PA)

    In order to purchase the IFFCO Tokio Personal Accident Insurance Policy, policy buyers are expected to meet the eligibility criteria set by the insurer.

    • Individuals between the age of 5 years and 70 years can purchase this policy.
    • This policy can be purchased to cover the proposer himself/herself, the proposer’s spouse, and dependent children.

    Features of IFFCO Tokio Personal Accident Insurance Policy (PA)

    • This policy can be extended to cover medical expenses that are incurred by the insured individual in connection with an injury, provided the claim is admissible as per the insurer’s terms and conditions. To avail this benefit, an extra premium will have to be paid.
    • Indians working abroad on civilian duties can avail the coverage provided by this policy on payment of an additional premium.
    • This policy comes with a free-look period of 15 days. Thus, individuals purchasing this policy can return it during the free-look period if they find the terms and conditions of this policy to be unsatisfactory.
    • The premium amount will have to be paid by the policy buyer before the commencement of the policy’s risk cover.

    Permanent total and absolute disablement Up to 100% of the sum insured can be paid to the policyholder *Percentage of benefit paid will vary based on the nature and severity of the disability.

    Temporary total disablement benefit 1% of the sum insured or Rs.25,000, based on whichever is the lower amount
    Expenses for carriage of dead body 2% of the sum insured or Rs.2,500, based on whichever is lesser
    Damage to clothes Rs.1,000 per person in any one accident or the actual expenses, based on whichever is lesser
    Ambulance charges Rs.1,000 per person or the actual expenses, based on whichever is lesser
    Education fund
    • For one child up to 23 years of age: 10% of the sum insured, subject to a maximum of Rs.5,000
    • For more than one child up to 23 years of age: 10% of the sum insured, subject to a maximum of Rs.10,000
    Loss of employment Rs.15,000 or 1% of the sum insured, based on whichever is the lower amount
    Cost of travel
    • For a person visiting the injured insured individual: Up to 2% of the sum insured, actual expenses, or Rs.10,000, based on whichever is the lowest
    • For the insured individual if the accident has occurred outside the city or town of his/her residence: Up to 1% of the sum insured, actual expenses, or Rs.5,000, based on whichever is the lowest amount.
    Cost of supporting items, such as artificial limbs, stretcher, wheelchair, etc. Rs.10,000, 2% of the sum insured, or the actual expenses, based on whichever is the lowest amount
    Cumulative bonus During renewal of the policy, the sum insured will be increased by 5%, subject to a maximum increase of 50%

    Exclusions under the IFFCO Tokio Personal Accident Insurance Policy (PA)

    • Compensation for more than one benefit, as specified in the insurer’s ‘Table of Benefits’ in the policy brochure, during the same period of disability
    • Any additional payments after a particular claim have been admitted by the insurer
    • Hospitalisation due to suicide or injuries as a result of the insured individual attempting to commit suicide
    • Accidents/injuries caused whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol
    • Injuries caused while participating in risky activities such as ballooning, aviation, etc.
    • Injuries during pregnancy or childbirth
    • Injuries or accidents caused due to insanity or venereal diseases
    • Injuries or accidents as a result of being infected with HIV/AIDS
    • Accidents caused while partaking in events with a criminal intent
    • Accidents or injuries caused as a result of war, hostilities, capture, civil commotion, seizure, etc.
    • Treatment or hospitalisation as a result of exposure to radioactivity, nuclear fission, etc.
    • Injuries caused while serving on duty with the armed forces
