    2. What needs to be done if my previous policy has already expired ?

      If your policy has already expired, this implies that a break has occurred in your insurance, therefore you have to invest in a new insurance policy.

    3. Is it ok if the insurance continues in the previous car owner’s name even after I have bought the vehicle from him/her?

      You have to transfer the vehicle insurance to your name at the time of sale otherwise your claim, when raised, will be denied.

    4. In case I lose the original copy of the insurance policy, can I get a duplicate copy of the same?

      Yes, you can approach the same office where the insurance policy was issued and give a written request for a copy of your insurance policy. You will be charged a nominal fee for the same.

    5. How can I add the installed CNG/LPG to my insurance plan ?

      You have to take a prior permission from the RTO, post which you need to register the same with the RTO in order to install the kit. Then, you have to approach any of the authorised Oriental Insurance offices and declare the installation of the kit to them with a copy of your vehicle’s RC. You have to pay an additional insurance premium and they will pass an endorsement for the same. This way the insurance firm will be liable in case you raise a claim.
