Royal Sundaram General Insurance, a subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, is one of the reputed general insurance firms operating in India. Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme is a medical insurance plan that offers comprehensive health benefits for policyholders. This policy is available in both individual and family floater variants based on the requirements of the customer.

There are certain exclusions for which Royal Sundaram is not liable to compensate the insured person. Some of these exclusions can be listed as follows.
Royal Sundaram operates a capable claims department to take care of the claim requests from its customers. For planned hospitalisation, policyholders must inform the company at least 48 hours prior to admission in a hospital. Policyholders who face situations of emergency hospitalisation can notify the company within 24 hours after admission.
Cashless treatment: Policyholders must contact the third-party administrator (TPA) in order to obtain pre-authorisation for treatment. The TPA will verify the submitted documents and issue the authorisation within 3 hours. Any deficiency in documents will also be communicated to policyholders. It must be noted that only hospitalisation charges are covered in cashless claims. The policyholder must pay for all non-medical expenses incurred.
Reimbursement claims: For reimbursement claims, the policyholders must provide all the proofs of hospitalisation within 30 days after discharge from the hospital. Some of the required documents include medical bills, physician certificate, discharge certificate, diagnostic reports, any other documents requested by the TPA, etc. Once the documents are received, the company will process the claim request. If the claim is rejected by the company, it will be communicated to the insured within 7 days along with the reason. Following the acceptance of the claim, Royal Sundaram will provide the settlement amount within 30 days.
