    Eligibility for Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme

    The eligibility criteria set forth by Royal Sundaram for enrolling in the Lifeline Supreme policy can be given as follows.

    • This policy is available for anyone above the age of 18 years.
    • Dependent children between the age of 91 days and 25 years can be covered if their parents are covered.
    • There is no maximum entry age for this policy cover.
    • Family floater cover is available for self, spouse, and dependent children.

    • Annual health checkup is offered for free if policyholders are over 18 years of age.
    • Second opinion coverage is provided for up to 11 critical illnesses named in the policy document.
    • There is an initial waiting period of 30 days from the date of commencement of this policy cover.
    • For pre-existing illnesses, there is a waiting period of 36 months.
    • Critical illnesses have a waiting period of 90 days from the date of commencement of this policy cover.
    • For all illnesses that have a waiting period, there must not be any break in the renewal of policy.
    • Pre-hospitalisation expenses are covered for up to 60 days before admission in a hospital.

    Exclusions of Royal Sundaram Lifeline Supreme

    There are certain exclusions for which Royal Sundaram is not liable to compensate the insured person. Some of these exclusions can be listed as follows.

    • Treatment for addictive conditions and disorders
    • Injuries caused while engaging in unlawful activities
    • Any kinds of self-inflicted injuries or attempted suicide
    • Injuries sustained while participating in adventure sports
    • Any kinds of alternative treatment (except AYUSH)
    • Cosmetic or aesthetic treatments of all kinds
    • Congenital conditions, birth defects, anomalies, etc.
    • Treatment for psychiatric or psychosomatic disorders
    • Expenses related to obesity treatment or weight loss treatments
    • Sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, and AIDS
    • Artificial life maintenance
    • Expenses related to the treatment for alopecia
    • Dental treatment and eye treatment
    • Treatment received outside India
    • Treatment for developmental problems
    • Hospitalisation just for observation or investigation
    • Any kinds of unproven or experimental treatment
    • Treatment received from an unrecognized hospital or physician

    Claim Procedure

    Royal Sundaram operates a capable claims department to take care of the claim requests from its customers. For planned hospitalisation, policyholders must inform the company at least 48 hours prior to admission in a hospital. Policyholders who face situations of emergency hospitalisation can notify the company within 24 hours after admission.

    Cashless treatment: Policyholders must contact the third-party administrator (TPA) in order to obtain pre-authorisation for treatment. The TPA will verify the submitted documents and issue the authorisation within 3 hours. Any deficiency in documents will also be communicated to policyholders. It must be noted that only hospitalisation charges are covered in cashless claims. The policyholder must pay for all non-medical expenses incurred.

    Reimbursement claims: For reimbursement claims, the policyholders must provide all the proofs of hospitalisation within 30 days after discharge from the hospital. Some of the required documents include medical bills, physician certificate, discharge certificate, diagnostic reports, any other documents requested by the TPA, etc. Once the documents are received, the company will process the claim request. If the claim is rejected by the company, it will be communicated to the insured within 7 days along with the reason. Following the acceptance of the claim, Royal Sundaram will provide the settlement amount within 30 days.
