    Claim process:

    The claim process for Tokio is simple and will be processed easily. There are three types of claims, accidental claim, own damage claim and theft claim. Here is all you have to do:

    Accidental Claim:

    • An immediate mention of the accident should be made to the company through its customer care via toll-free number present on the website.
    • In case of major accident, it should reported immediately before the vehicle is being moved from the accidental spot as there will spot inspection for damage of the vehicle from the insurer.
    • If the accident involves a third-party person who is injured, then the same must be reported at a nearest police station according to the MVA. An immediate medical service will be arranged from the insurer if either of the parties are injured.
    • The insurer will arrange to tow the vehicle and it is preferable that the owner of the vehicle gets it repaired from the insurer’s network of garages for easy claim process.
    • A survey inspector will then visit the workshop and assess the damages. On the approval of the quote sent by the garage, and other verification on the accident details and the person who drove the vehicle. If all the evidences and documents are valid, the claim amount will be released.
    • The claim amount will be directly sent to the garage after the completion of the repair work.

    Own Damage Claim:

    • In the event of any mishap, inform the company immediately with every minute detail and if there is an involvement of the third-party person, then file an FIR at the nearest police station. Own damage claim can also be filed if there was a burglary, theft, death, riots, terrorists activity, etc.
    • Submit a duly filled claim form along with the FIR copy if any. You should also submit, RC, DL, estimation of repairs and other required documents. All the submitted documents and information should be accurate.

    Theft Claim:

    • First thing to do is to file an FIR at the nearest police station.
    • Inform IFFCO Tokio executive as soon as possible and provide accurate details and mention that you have filed an FIR and have the copy of the same.
    • Submit the policy details, RC of the vehicle, DL and other required documents and information along with the claim form.
    • Submit a letter or application at the RTO where the vehicle was registered. They will provide a certification of transfer which is necessary for the claim.
    • During the claim process, if the police returns the vehicle, inform the insurer on the same. If has not been recovered after a certain period, then obtain non-traceable certificate and the court will give a final report under section 173 Crpc.
    • After the final amount, the insurer will release the claim amount.
