Read on to know more about the process that you need to follow if you wish to get a VIP registration number for your two-wheeler in the state of Haryana.

    Elements of a Number Plate

The license plate that is attached to a vehicle is commonly called a number plate. The number plate consists of certain alphabets and numbers that form a code that is unique to your vehicle. The lettering and digits on a number plate can be divided into four parts. The first part of the number plate usually has two alphabets which indicate the state in which the vehicle has been registered. For example, if you register your two-wheeler in Haryana, your number plate will begin with an “HR”.

The next part of your number plate will consist of 2 digits that indicate the district in which your vehicle has been registered. The third part of your license plate will consist of the registration number, which can be chosen by the vehicle owner. The pricing for these unique registration numbers will vary based on your state of residence. The fourth part of the license plate consists of a hologram and the letters “IND”.

    Need for Registration Mark/Number

It is mandatory for every vehicle to have a registration number, also known as the registration mark, as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Thus, a vehicle owner cannot legally ride their two-wheeler on the road before it has been registered.

    The Bottom Line

Purchasing a two-wheeler is seldom an easy task. Prospective vehicle buyers usually put in days of research into finding a vehicle that is just right for their needs. Added to this, if one is opting for a special registration number, more time and money is usually required. Thus, make sure to protect your vehicle and yourself while riding by purchasing a two wheeler insurance policy. You can either purchase a third-party liability-only cover or a comprehensive two wheeler insurance policy based on your coverage needs, frequency of usage, and other factors.
