It is necessary for all motor vehicles to have a registration number since the registration number that is allotted to a vehicle is unique to that particular vehicle and will help in identification in the event of an accident, crime, theft, etc.
Since the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 makes it mandatory for all vehicle owners to have a valid registration number, you should ensure that you get a registration number from the respective RTO. Further, you should also make sure to purchase a two-wheeler insurance policy for your vehicle in order to completely comply with the guidelines of the Motor Vehicles Act. You have the option of purchasing a third-party liability insurance policy or a comprehensive two-wheeler insurance policy, based on your needs.
