In the state of Madhya Pradesh, where Bhopal is situated, the demand for fancy numbers for two-wheelers saw a rise. Many bike owners are fascinated by vanity numbers and wish to boost the image of their vehicle with a fancy registration number. The state government, hence, created an online platform wherein such individuals can participate in an auction for such special numbers. The new e-auction system brings about transparency in the entire system of allocation of VIP numbers for two-wheelers.
The registration plate on a two-wheeler in India follows a certain format that is followed by people throughout the country. The format has four different sections as follows:
It is mandatory by law for every two-wheeler owner in India to get a vehicle registration number plate, according to the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The bike owners are also expected to follow the format that is mentioned by the government. Certain font and colour formats have been fixed so that it is easy to identify vehicles. For example, commercial vehicles have a yellow background on the number plate and the text is in black. Commercial vehicles that are available for rent, on the other hand, have a black background and yellow font colour. The number plate is required to be fixed at the front and back of the vehicle.
Every bike owner should make it a point to get his/her bike registered and fix the plate soon after purchasing a bike. Those who wish to get a fancy number, can do so by following the procedure mentioned above. Bike riders should always exercise caution while riding and not cause trouble for themselves or to those around. Additionally, the bike rider should purchase an insurance policy to protect himself/herself and his/her two-wheeler from any damages. While a third-party liability insurance plan is compulsory, one can also choose a comprehensive insurance plan type that offers a wide range of benefits.
