The process to reserve a fancy number for one’s two-wheeler in Bhubaneswar is as given below:
The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 makes it mandatory for all bike owners to have a registration number plate at the front and back of the vehicle. The letters are required to be Latin letters and the numerals are to be Arabic numerals. The background colour and the font colour of the text for different types of vehicles such as private vehicles, commercial vehicles, vehicles of foreign consulates, etc. are fixed. Further, the number plates are expected to have adequate light so that the text is visible. The number plates are an important part of the vehicle as it helps identify the vehicle, especially at the time of theft, crime and so on.
It is best for every bike owner to follow the regulations laid down under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and get number plates for their vehicles. Also, an additional guideline under the same Act is to get a motor insurance policy. The basic insurance policy type i.e. the third-party liability insurance policy type is mandatory. One can choose the third-party insurance type or pick a comprehensive insurance policy that offers a huge range of benefits. The insurance plan will provide coverage for any natural or man-made damages caused to the two-wheeler.
